Engagement sessions are so surreal! And they are supposed to be!! I enjoy capturing that magical moment that ties two hearts, two people, two families, two LIVES together, that's what an engagement session is all about. Below are some helpful tips to prepare for your session to make it amazing!

* Location is everything! I simply mean that. Pick a place that ties you to your roots as a couple and don't be afraid to think out of the box.

* Schedule your engagement sessions about an hour to an hour and a half before the sun sets. That way you get that amazing afternoon light, an awesome sunset shot, and some night shots as well. Scheduling it too early means you could chance getting some harsh light from the sun!

*Clothing! Make sure your colors complement each other and that your clothing is comfortable! Set a "theme" and stick to that. I allow for up to 2 different outfit changes so bring extras so not all the shots are identical. Also, remember to iron or steam your clothes for wrinkles just before your shoot!

*Be on Time: This is really important. If you show up late, we will lose that important light time during their session due to the lack of light. Now I realize that things happen beyond out control like massive amounts of traffic and accidents. If at all possible, try to be on time so that you don’t lose any of your shooting time and pretty sunlight!

*As with most sessions, DETAIL! Nails, makeup, hair, bear, mustache, teeth....make sure all are on point and ready to shoot! You will end up hating your photos if you suddenly notice that you have 3 day old polish that is peeling off in your images.....avoid this....details :)
